#TOLERANCE

Meta-media Installation on Tolerance and Peace

#Tolerance is a collective, digital, multicultural artwork true to the identity of contemporary knowledge: an innovative platform for collective storytelling. A global transmedia combinatorial writing experiment.

“A digital platform lets the peoples of the world speak…”

Strongly supported by the Archdiocese of Milan and under the artistic direction of Paco Simone, this innovative planetary storytelling platform on the theme of Peace and Tolerance was exhibited at the heart of the “Constantine – 313 A.D.” exhibition, produced in Milan at the Royal Palace by the Municipality of Milan and Electa publishing house, in collaboration with the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and the Special Superintendence for the Archaeological Heritage of Rome, the Aquileia Foundation, the Archdiocese of Milan, and the University of Milan.

An interactive digital wall allowed each visitor to scroll through images and stories about Tolerance and Peace from the Internet in all the languages of the planet and to produce their own in real-time.
This is a unique collective storytelling experience that revolves around a fundamental value of Western Culture, the foundation of every democracy. A principle that, when interpreted in terms of individual religious freedom, belongs especially to the Edict of Constantine.

“#TOLERANCE is a project aimed at all those who wish to participate, transferring the exhibition’s theme, that of tolerance or intolerance, to today,” stated Paolo Biscottini, Director of the Diocesan Museum and curator of the exhibition with Gemma Sena Chiesa.
“This meta-media installation gives meaning to the entire exhibition,” declared Gemma Sena Chiesa, “involving the whole world in a discussion on one of the most important characteristics of our Civilization.”

Connected live to Instagram and Twitter, the collective artistic video installation brought to light the small and great stories happening on the planet in real-time around the great theme of the exhibition, narrated through contemporary expressions and interpretations.
