Multivision

Video Installation for the Diocesan Museum of Milan

The communication of the values that the Diocesan Museum carries begins at the entrance threshold: it is with the visitor’s first steps, as they cross it, that the shapes and essence of the Multivision took form.

The simultaneous multi-viewing of video clips, images, and evocative three-dimensional reconstructions, along with concise but comprehensive summariesof the content to be expressed, prepares the public for their visit to the Museum: the three silent films, projected in sync, narrate through images and brief written captions the history and nature of the Ambrosian Diocese and the Diocesan Museum.

The Multivision cycles through, guiding attention along an innovative virtual journey to understand the fundamental figures, themes, events, and places.

The Multivision materialized by transforming the entire expanse of the back wall of the first corridor into a dynamic electronic fabric. In this context, it immediately provides a first key to understanding, helping to not lose the thread later during the visit.

The Multivision is positioned so that it is visible from the ticket office and bookshop, to be enjoyed possibly while queuing, waiting, or during purchases.
